You can grow almost anything. Herbs like basil, mint, coriander, parsley, and chives work great. Leafy greens like lettuce and spinach thrive too. Small vegetables like cherry tomatoes and strawberries also do well. Avoid large root vegetables or plants that grow very tall.
Do I need to add nutrients, and how often?
Yes. The kit includes A and B nutrient solutions. Add them every two weeks for best results. Always follow the dosage instructions on the bottles. Overfeeding can harm your plants as much as underfeeding.
How much water does the tank hold, and how often do I refill?
The tank holds 4 litres. Refill when the water level drops below the minimum line. This usually happens every one to two weeks, depending on plant size and room temperature. The clear tank makes it easy to check at a glance.
What if my seeds do not sprout?
Germination depends on seed type, quality, and environment. If seeds do not sprout within 7 to 10 days, try a fresh batch. Some seeds like rosemary take longer, while lettuce and basil sprout quickly. Patience and good seeds make all the difference.
How high does the light go, and when should I adjust it?
The light adjusts from 2.2 inches to 12.4 inches. Keep it 2 to 4 inches above your plants at all times. Raise it as they grow taller. This prevents burning and ensures every leaf gets enough light.
Is the system noisy?
No. The pump and fan operate at a very low noise level. You will barely notice it in a bedroom, office, or open-plan kitchen. It will not disturb your work, sleep, or daily routine.
How much electricity does it use?
The 20W LED uses very little power. Running it 16 hours a day costs less than a typical lightbulb. It is energy efficient and wallet friendly.
Do I need to clean the system, and how?
Yes, clean between growing cycles. Empty the tank, wipe with a soft cloth, and rinse thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals. A mild soap solution works fine. Rinse well before adding fresh water and nutrients.
Can I grow different plants at the same time?
Yes, all 12 pods can hold different plants. Just keep in mind that plants grow at different speeds. Taller plants might shade shorter ones, so position them wisely. Put taller varieties at the back and shorter ones at the front.
How long does the LED light last?
The LED panel is rated for 50,000 hours. That is over 8 years of use at 16 hours per day. You will not need to replace it anytime soon.
